FOX Spanish Lecturer Wanted


The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley (Menasha, WI) is searching for a Lecturer to teach first- and second-semester Spanish in the fall 2013 semester and first-semester Spanish in the spring 2014 semester. Lecturers prepare course syllabi, teach courses, and hold office hours for students.

The fall contract begins August 26. Fall classes start September 3 with final exams December 16-23 (dates subject to change).

The spring contract begins January 10. Spring classes start January 27 with final exams May 16-20 (dates subject to change).

FALL 2013

SPA 101 First Semester Spanish (FTE 26.67%)
Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu 1:30PM - 2:20PM

Course Description: For students who have had no previous training in the language. Emphasis on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Spanish. Classes also may include cultural studies of Spain and Latin America. Field trip may be required.

SPA 105 Second Semester Spanish (FTE 26.67%)
Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu 2:30PM-3:20PM

Course Description: Continuation of SPA 101 or SPA 104. Field trip may be required.

Master’s degree in the discipline (Spanish) or a closely-related field required. Native or near-native Spanish proficiency is required. Post-secondary teaching experience is desirable. Experience abroad in a Spanish-speaking country is also beneficial.
