Scholarships are the lifeblood of any academic institution. Listed below are named scholarships awarded by the UW-Fox Valley Foundation, Inc. Slight changes may occur from year to year. The general criteria for scholarships include:

  • academic merit,
  • motivation,
  • school/community involvement,
  • written communication skills,
  • specific eligibility criteria specified by the donor
Most of the scholarships are directed to full-time students.

How to Apply for UW-Fox Valley Scholarships

  • You must be admitted to UW-Fox Valley before you will be considered for UW-Fox Valley scholarships (New students only).
  • Complete the application appropriate based on your student status.
  • Submit an essay responding to the questions on the scholarship application.
  • Provide a copy of your academic transcript.

    (Awarded to a full-time student with a C average who has been in at least one drama production each semester)
  • Rotary Club of Appleton
    (Awarded to a non-traditional student who has completed 25% of his/her course of study leading to an associate degree or its equivalent. Must reside in an area encompassed by the three Appleton Rotary clubs. Financial need considered.)

  • J.C. Bubolz Memorial
    (Awarded to a full-time student. If a new student, from upper half of graduating class or GPA of 3.0 if currently enrolled)
  • Business & Professional Women (BPW/Mid-Day)
    (Sponsored by BPW, awarded to a female, non-traditional student)

  • Business Club Continuing/Departing Student
    (Sponsored by the campus Business Club, awarded to a new student and a continuing or departing student majoring in Business)

  • Campus Leasing Solution
    (Sponsored by the campus bookstore, a student is awarded a scholarship to be used at the campus bookstore for books and supplies)

    (Awarded to a full-time student new or continuing student)
  • Howard and Alice Curler Academic Excellence
    (Awarded to a new student who ranked in the top 20% of high school graduating class who had a distinguished record of leadership potential in high school and community activities)

    (Awarded to new full-time students who are residents of Neenah, Menasha, or Appleton)

    (Awarded to a student majoring in one of the following majors:  Philosophy, Art, Music, English, Foreign Languages. Fine Arts, Communication Arts)

    (Awarded to a new or continuing student)

    Awarded to a full-time entering or continuing student [3.0 GPA required] with demonstrated financial need)

    (Awarded to a student who has wrestled on a high school varsity wrestling team for at least 2 years, who has at least a cumulative GPA of 2.6, and plans to transfer to either UW La Crosse, UW Green Bay, or UW Oshkosh with junior standing.)

    (Awarded to a full-time female student with a strong interest in pursuing an engineering degree)

    (Awarded to a continuing or departing student in political science)

    (Awarded to a student living in the area served by the three Appleton Rotary Clubs who has financial need)
  •  Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation Scholarships
    (Need-based $500 per semester renewable scholarships. Must have GPA of 2.75. Open to single parents, non-traditional, minority or foreign students, and others with significant financial need. Application and personal interview required. Should be a focused student preparing for a career with good employment prospects. Application deadlines: March 1 and October 1.)

  • Esther Kliefoth Stutzman Excellence
    (Awarded to a new, continuing or non-traditional excellent student)
  • ThedaCare Pre-Nursing Scholarship (Awarded to a full-time continuing student pursuing a degree in Nursing and planning to stay in the Fox Valley area and is Interested in seeking employment within the ThedaCare System. Accepted enrollment in UW-Oshkosh Program is preferable. Must demonstrate financial need, a 3.0 GPA and show evidence of community service. One to two letters of recommendation from faculty required.)

    (Awarded to four non-traditional students and four traditional students from the Fox Cities for financial need is a major consideration)

    (Awarded to a student who is 21 or older who is living independently from parents)

    (Awarded to valedictorians. Selection made by Wisconsin high schools)
  • University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley Scholar
    (Awarded to a new student with an outstanding academic achievement record.  Must be in upper 10%, competitive)

  • University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
    (Sponsored by UW Green Bay, awarded to a student transferring to UW Green Bay with junior  standing)

  • University of Wisconsin-Madison
    (Sponsored by the UW Madison Fox Cities Alumni Club.  Open to a full-time student admitted to UW Madison with junior standing)

  • University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh
    (Sponsored by UW Oshkosh, open to a full-time student admitted to UW Oshkosh with junior standing and a minimum of a 3.3 GPA.) Valitchka Scholarship
