Head Soccer Coach

Head soccer coach, Lance Gordon, brings over 30 years experience as a coach and player to the UW-Fox Valley Soccer Program. Lance moved to the area from Mount Horeb, south of Madison. He was the Director of Coaching and a member of the board for the Mount Horeb Soccer Club.
Lance played for the Yahara Blasters, one of the two original teams of the Yahara Soccer Club, in Middleton. He joined the Marine Corps after high school and was a player and coach for United States Marine Corps teams in various locations across the globe, including Japan, Spain, Greece, and Italy. Lance also has also played soccer in Brazil. Coach Gordon is a strong believer in playing highly disciplined soccer, by using crisp passing, movement off the ball, and one or two touch passing to control the game. He also believes in strong technical and tactical fundamentals.
Lance graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in History and History of Science. He coaches with the Fox Valley Unified soccer club in Appleton and has worked as a Staff coach for the University of Wisconsin Soccer team, as a summer staff coach. Lance has a National “C” License from the United States Soccer Federation and Certificates from the NSCAA for Goalkeeper Training. Lance and his wife Cristina have three kids, Alex, Miranda, and Cameron, and live in the Fox Valley area.
